We are a well-established, respected and rapidly growing Development and Construction business. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an experienced and confident Accounts Professional to join our team. This is a key role within the organisation, with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of financial management and working closely with multiple departments to ensure the smooth running of our projects. Role Overview: As the Senior Accounts Professional, you will play an integral role in managing the day-to-day finance operations across our business. You will report directly to the Managing Director and collaborate with all key areas of the business including Development, Land and Project Managers, Purchasing Manager and Construction Managers, along with external stakeholders. Your work will influence strategic decisions, and you will help ensure that financial processes align with the goals of our growing business. With a broad scope of responsibilities and opportunities for growth, this role is ideal for a confident accounts professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage cash flow effectively. Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations. Payroll & Subcontractor Administration: Process payroll, including PAYE compliance. Manage subcontractor payments and monthly returns (CIS experience is a plus but not essential). Conduct bank account reconciliations and manage inter-account transfers. Input and manage supplier invoices (proficiency in Sage is essential). Oversee accounts payable and receivable balances for each entity within the business. Prepare supplier payments accurately and timely. Tax & Compliance Preparing and reviewing quarterly VAT returns Assisting with the preparation and submission of regulatory and statutory returns for each company Performing ad hoc reporting & analysis as required Skills & Experience: Strong skills in financial reporting, experience with Sage. Experience in Construction Finance – Advantage: Familiarity with the financial complexities of construction projects, including cost tracking, project billing, and supplier management. Attention to Detail & Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with a solid understanding of cost control, cash flow management, and financial analysis. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work closely with various departments and external parties, effectively managing relationships and communicating financial insights. Leadership & Initiative: A proactive, self-motivated individual with the confidence to take ownership of financial processes and drive improvements within the business.
