Key Responsibilities: Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, with appropriate supervision, including:
Divorce and civil partnership dissolution Financial settlements on relationship breakdowns Child Arrangements Orders Nuptial and cohabitation agreements Non-molestation and occupation orders
Represent clients in advocacy, including directions hearings and other family court proceedings. Oversee costing, billing, and credit control on own files to ensure efficient management of financial aspects. Build and develop a network of clients and referrers, contributing to the growth of the family law practice. Assist in the development and implementation of the business development strategy for the family team. Provide high-quality legal advice to clients, ensuring sensitive handling of family matters.
Key Requirements: A qualified solicitor or professional equivalent with experience in family law. Strong understanding of family finances, separation, and breakdown of relationships. Experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and advocacy in family court. Excellent billing practices and financial hygiene. Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and referrers. Up-to-date understanding and commitment to risk management and compliance. Proficiency in IT applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, with experience using case management systems.
