Job overview Applications are invited for a full-time (1.0 WTE) 6-month fixed term Locum Consultant Radiologist. The candidate should be able to report acute general cross-sectional imaging including MRI and CT. Additional subspecialist interests would be welcomed. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will join a team of 22 consultant radiologists providing a comprehensive imaging service at Kingston Hospital. The candidate must possess the FRCR or equivalent and be fully registered with the GMC. Person specification Qualifications Full GMC Registration with License to Practice. CCT and on GMC’s Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from the date of the interview. Appropriate higher degree (e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent). Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or Surgeons (MRCS). Clinical Experience Current wide range of cross-sectional experience (CT, MRI, US), particularly oncology imaging. MDT experience. Additional subspecialty interest e.g. Paeds, gynae, MSK. Management Skills Able to communicate at a strategic and operational level. Attended management training course. Knowledge of finance / budgets. Training, Audit and Research Demonstrable commitment and ability to teach and train undergraduates and junior doctors. Experience of clinical audit. Relevant research articles in peer-reviewed journals. Completed ‘Train the Trainers’ course. Personal Qualities Demonstrate leadership skills within a multidisciplinary team. Ability to motivate staff and facilitate appropriate changes in clinical practice. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
