Job summary An exciting opportunity has become available for the position of ward manager, this is a permanent post. OPMH experience is essential which would benefit the role. The Limes is a 17 bedded unit for patients with dementia and functional illness in Portsmouth. The successful post holder will have excellent leadership and management skills and be committed to providing an inclusive environment where staff and patients are encouraged to thrive and reach their maximum potential. You will provide leadership and support to the inpatient nursing team and have responsibility for the management and coordination of the ward. You would deliver a high standard of care to the inpatient patient, ensuring the optimum level of safe and effective care within the allocated resources. Main duties of the job Management of the clinical team ensuring that the team are working effectively both as individuals and as a team. This includes recruitment, retention, development and support, and performance management of staff. Management of patients acting as the clinical lead for the unit leading MDT ensuring that the team are responsive to the patient needs and that the clinical documentation is robust. Management of Governance process auditing and evaluating the service as required by the Trust, to monitor standards ensuring quality and consistency and to take action when required reporting to Matron and Head of Service.
