Job summary Are you a Registered Nursing Associate, or just about to finish your Foundation Degree? Do you aspire to make a positive contribution to nursing in the community? The Weymouth and Portland Community Nursing Team would like to welcome a Registered Nursing Associate to join our supportive team. Working with people in their own homes is a privileged position - we continually invest in growing and developing our staff to ensure the very best care to people accessing our services is achieved. We understand that the transition from Trainee to Registered Nursing Associate can be both exciting and anxiety provoking at the same time. As a RNA you will be allocated a named preceptor in the clinical team who will support you whilst you find your feet and help you to identify areas of your practice you wish to develop. We'd be happy to hear from you and answer any questions you may have. We'd also like to hear from you if you are approaching the end of your Nursing Associate Foundation Degree and are considering Community Nursing as your first post. Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position. Main duties of the job You will deliver planned care to a group of patients working within the standards of proficiency outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and in accordance with Trust policies and protocols. You will demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support/guidance to less experienced staff/learners within the clinical environment as needed. You will manage a defined group of patients/service users under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence based/client centred principles to undertake a range of delegated tasks independently. You will contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient/service user care. Take responsibility for planned/defined tasks as required. Plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols. Delegate work to support worker staff and learners, as required. Take responsibility for the training of others and may be required to deliver training. We would welcome applications from newly qualified Nurse Associates and we provide a very comprehensive and fully supported Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified healthcare professionals.
