12 month Fixed Term Contract , and in return you will receive a competitive salary of

£29334 - £29777

(gross per annum pro rata, equating to

£14775.14 - £16095.68

(gross) per annum for 20 hours per week, we can be flexible around working hours to suit. About the role: As our

Finance Officer

you will be responsible for processing and reconciliation of financial transactions and recharges for the Authority, and the provision of financial advice to acceptable professional standards. You will assist in the provision of accountancy services and financial management processes and policies within the organisation. Key responsibilities of the Finance Officer: To be responsible for monthly reconciliations of payroll transactions, P Card transactions and the Authority's Pension Schemes, posting payroll corrections and deductions to the Integra system. To provide advice and assist with the training and support of users of the Authority's financial systems as deputy system administrator. To complete the monthly bank reconciliation, ensuring the bank balance matches the system balances. To administer P Card transactions and provide help and advice to users. To collate and process internal recharges as appropriate. To identify posting errors and perform correcting journals. To complete government returns for VAT, CIS and attend PS Tax seminars in order to inform the Authority. To monitor the mailboxes for the Integra Helpdesk and Finance Department to assist with requests. To administer Aged Debt and distribute reminders, statements as necessary. To provide a monthly report to the Head of Finance. To commensurate to grade of post, as required, undertake other tasks as requested by the Line Manager and any other duties associated with the support function of the department. To maintain security and confidentiality of information, whether computer based or otherwise, in line with legislation, especially the Data Protection Act and Service policies. To maintain professional knowledge, by networking, attending training courses, benchmarking performance against other Fire Services and reviewing professional qualifications. Minimum Requirements: Excellent communication, written and numerical skills Proven ability to undertake figure work and data manipulation Good analytical skills Ability to work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
