Role : Quantity Surveyor Location : Rye, East Sussex Salary : £45,000 to £60,000 + car & package An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a £20m flood defence project in Rye, East Sussex. The Quantity Surveyor will play an integral role on the project, managing a number of subcontract packages and supporting the onsite Senior QS with the overall commercial and financial management of the project. The successful Quantity Surveyor can expect a position that includes hybrid working, great career prospects, excellent work life balance and a generous salary and supporting package. The Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with the Senior QS and Commercial Manager, carrying out a number of duties including: Preparing, managing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled throughout each stage of the project life cycle Administration of the contract including managing variations, claims and disputes Provide accurate measurement and valuation of completed works including preparation of bills of quantities, schedules of rate, site measurements and verifying subcontractors work Manage the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers Ensure accurate and up to date records are maintained and show financial transactions, project progress and contract changes Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need: Previous experience working for a large main contractor or specialist subcontractor on a heavy civil engineering project.
