POSITION SUMMARY
This role reports to the Director of the Project Management Office and works under the direction of the Project Director, Business Transformation Project. The Digital Training Specialist will liaise with all the Business Transformation Project workstream Project Managers and Project Analysts, as well as internal stakeholders and external vendors, to gain a thorough understanding of the software applications, and the associated business processes to ensure a comprehensive training approach.
The Digital Training Specialist will use their adult education experience and skills to effectively develop, communicate and deliver Business Transformation Project training curriculum while utilizing a variety of training modalities, including both classroom/in person delivery and eLearning formats. The Digital Training Specialist will also provide leadership and direction to department change leaders who will support the project’s change management effort and knowledge translation strategy.
To ensure a comprehensive system understanding, the Digital Training Specialist will fully participate in gathering needs assessments, analyze information and specifications regarding practices and business processes for the new platform being implemented. As part of this scope of work, the Digital Training Specialist will assess the scope of change for transitioning from the legacy application build/functions; and will develop and document policies and procedures that will support use of the Business Transformation Project’s software platform.
QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate Degree inEducation, Health Informatics, Health Sciences, or Computer Science and Information technology required
A diploma or certification in Informatics or Adult Learning is considered an asset
Minimum 3 years experience in curriculum development and instructional design
Previous experience in education delivery utilizing Adult Learning Principles
Previous experience developing and creating eLearning and interactive tutorial-based learning programs is an asset
Previous Workday, UKG and Parklane software experience/certification is an asset
Previous experience leveraging Articulate Storyline and Camtasia software applications is an asset
Experience with Prezi, Captivate and other media applications
Experience in a healthcare environment – basic understanding of terminology preferred
Familiar with PHIPA, PIPEDA and AODA legislation
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc.)
Microsoft Visio experience is an asset
Previous project/systems implementation experience
Ability and interest to learn the software and increase knowledge over time and eagerness to promote it within the organization
Strong adult education skills – developing, preparing, and delivering education
Highly proficient in creating effective and imaginative training materials and presentations
Experience building courses within a Learning Management System (LMS), deploying content, and reporting on results is an asset
The ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization
Communicate effectively with project team members and subject matter experts and follow-up on identified training issues
Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies
Must be able to work independently, but also collaboratively as a member of a high performing team
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Strong organization, problem solving and analytical skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to work equally well as a member of a team or alone to carry out project activities, resilience, and creativity are essential

RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in the various testing phases of the Business Transformation Project (application/unit, integrated and end user acceptance phases) to assist with the completion of the broader project’s testing deliverables
Completes software testing to complete the validation of training curriculum, lessons, and exercises
Develops, implements, and maintains a role-based training program including curriculum development and instructional design and classroom delivery
Develops, implements, and maintains eLearning and interactive tutorial-based training modules
Develops, implements, and maintains learning materials including presentations, videos, exercise booklets, and classroom information sheets
Creates, maintains, and publishes Business Transformation Project software application Training Toolkits, Tip Sheets, Quick Start Guides and other training materials
Maintains eLearning modules and videos, training toolkits and other self-guided learning tools
Maintains any software specific credentials required to develop and deliver training curriculum
Develops special Business Transformation Project training initiatives as required
Supports the coordination of training registration and scheduling as required
Completes any training software environment preparation and pre-delivery setup to support the delivery of end user training
Trains, facilitates, and guides individuals and groups of staff in Business Transformation Project software application functionality and business processes, in both formal scheduled class sessions and informal sessions as needed
Trains operational change leaders to lead specialty module application training for new staff members/transfers as required
Participates in implementation go live support
Completes end user direct support including “at the elbow assistance” as well as remote (phone/email)
Develops and delivers a post go-live training program if required
Other duties as assigned
