Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Roofer to oversee a team of roofers specialising in long-run metal roofing and wall cladding. Previous supervisory or foreman experience is preferred but not essential if you’re able to prove a history of delivering on the job and working your way up to a senior position.
You will lead both new commercial installations and re-roofing projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of roofers, ensuring a productive and safe work environment. Project Management:
Oversee the planning and execution of roofing projects, coordinating with Project Managers, other trades, and contractors. Installation:
Lead the installation of long-run metal roofing and wall cladding systems, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Quality Control:
Conduct inspections to ensure top-quality workmanship and materials, addressing any issues promptly. Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure the team is equipped with proper gear. Problem-Solving:
Quickly identify and resolve on-site challenges related to materials, crew, or weather conditions. Client Relations:
Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns. Documentation:
Maintain accurate project records, including daily reports, timecards, and material usage. Required Skills / Qualifications : Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial roofing, focusing on metal roofing and wall cladding systems. Supervisory or foreman experience is preferred but not essential. Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of roofing materials, techniques and best practices, particularly in long-run metal roofing and wall cladding. Physical Requirements:
Ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials and perform in varying weather conditions. Qualifications:
NZ Certificate in Metal Roofing & Wall Cladding is preferred but not essential. Certifications:
Must hold or be able to acquire certifications in Working @ Heights, Elevated Work Platforms, Site Safe and First Aid. Driver’s License:
