Electrical Building Services Engineer Location: Hybrid (remote and site-based) About us Founded in 2004, Better Planet is a leading installer of green heating and electricity solutions. We specialise in designing and installing systems, including ground and air source heat pumps, solar PV panels, underfloor heating, and MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery). As an accredited member of the government's Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), we are committed to delivering high-quality installations, maximising performance, and ensuring client satisfaction. The role We are seeking an Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our growing team. This full-time position offers hybrid working flexibility, combining remote work with on-site visits as needed. You’ll be at the forefront of designing and implementing renewable energy systems for domestic and commercial projects. Key responsibilities: Design and specify electrical systems for renewable technologies, including heat pumps, solar PV, MVHR, and battery storage. Collaborate to deliver integrated heating and electricity solutions. Support the installation and commissioning of renewable energy systems, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. Provide technical guidance and innovative problem-solving to address project challenges. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations, best practices, and advancements in renewable energy technology. About you You are a motivated and skilled engineer with a passion for sustainability and renewable energy. You have the technical expertise and creativity to deliver innovative solutions while collaborating effectively with diverse teams. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Experience: Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems is essential. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, including heat pumps, solar PV, and MVHR systems, is highly desirable. What we offer: A supportive and collaborative work environment.
