Teamworking for the planet This role reports into the Senior Pricing Manager within the Energy Economics Team. It is a senior position responsible for delivering high profile analytical output that will enable OVO’s strategic growth and inform critical Business Planning and Pricing processes. This role in a nutshell: This is an exciting role working as part of a team of 3 analysts in the Pricing Team, which has ownership of setting prices for approx. 4m customers in a highly competitive, regulated, and volatile market. We value optimise within our pricing principles and maximise the value generated from our customers, impacting OVO’s commercial performance, business planning, and commercial strategy. Your key outcomes will be: Develop analytical models to hypothesise customer behaviours to recommend optimal prices, including models to forecast competitor behaviour and pricing assumptions. Evidence and test hypotheses on behaviours for existing OVO customers and the wider market. Own price assumptions across a range of sales channels and activities. Enable coordinated planning around price with KPIs to support delivery. React to the market to make day-to-day decisions on value maximising levels and price changes. Collaborate with delivery teams to support price change and tariff launch business processes. Collaborate with Propositions & Growth teams to innovate pricing approaches to assure value. Develop and own a standardised model to support the value assessment of new tariffs and propositions. Develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders to consolidate and cascade information, highlight risks and opportunities, and develop business processes. Systems: Experience with data analysis in programming languages (e.g., Python or R). Experience in data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI). Have specific experience in analysing customer behaviour and dynamics. Are confident when influencing senior stakeholders. Are motivated by responding to changing environments and can take the initiative in addressing complex challenges. Can learn quickly to develop a detailed understanding of existing models and processes. Are highly analytical with strong data manipulation skills and advanced Excel/Google Sheets knowledge. Have experience writing SQL queries and working with BigQuery. Have proven high attention to detail and strong communication skills. Are a team player who thrives in a challenging environment. Are flexible and willing to contribute on a range of work aspects. Have commercial awareness to support prioritisation and communication at a senior level. Are a self-starter, comfortable working both autonomously and with colleagues.
