Logistics Director

to oversee the worldwide shipping and distribution of IT products. This critical leadership role requires extensive experience in global supply chain management, logistics strategy, and operational excellence. The Logistics Director will be responsible for optimizing and executing end-to-end logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-efficient delivery of IT hardware to customers across the globe. Key Responsibilities : Develop and implement a global logistics strategy to ensure the efficient and cost-effective transportation of IT hardware worldwide. Analyze current shipping processes, identify areas for improvement, and create plans to optimize logistics performance. Oversee the end-to-end shipping process, including managing global shipping partners, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure products are delivered on time and in optimal condition. Collaborate with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure effective warehouse operations, stock levels, and inventory management systems that align with global shipping requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other external partners to ensure smooth shipping processes and manage any service or cost-related issues. Develop and manage logistics budgets, ensuring cost-effective practices while maintaining quality of service. Identify opportunities for cost savings in shipping and transportation, such as optimizing routes, packaging, and consolidating shipments. Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, import/export laws, customs requirements, and environmental standards. Work with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks associated with international trade and logistics. Implement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track shipping efficiency, delivery timelines, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership. Lead the resolution of any shipping or logistics-related issues, ensuring swift and effective action. Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and customer experience. Manage and mentor a team of logistics professionals. Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure team members are aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally in the IT, technology, or electronics industries. Demonstrated experience managing global shipping operations and optimizing supply chains for large-scale product distribution. Skills : Strong understanding of global shipping and logistics operations, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, and international trade regulations. Proficiency in logistics management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools. Experience in European Expansion and Brexit regulations. Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing relationships with shipping vendors and third-party providers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. Exceptional leadership abilities with experience managing and developing teams. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and deadlines. Certifications : Certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or similar logistics certifications are preferred. This position typically operates in an office environment but may require occasional visits to warehouses, distribution centers, and shipping hubs globally. Flexible work options may be available.
