Location: Fareham/Swindon with hybrid working The opportunity: The UK DevOps team is part of the UK Operations and IT function which drives technology delivery and change across the UK business. The DevOps team currently consists of a Mendix Low-code and a Salesforce development and operations capability; a MuleSoft API team and SmartComms digital content team is also being established. The DevOps team has fully embraced new ways of working including Agile, DevOps practices, API-led development, cloud-first, and CI/CD. You will work as part of the DevOps Salesforce team responsible for the operational and small change software development demands of Zurich’s Salesforce platform across the UK business. You will report to the Salesforce Platform Lead. Zurich Insurance UK is expanding its DevOps team to meet the increasing demand for digital transformation, API-led application development, Agile delivery, DevOps practices and innovation. The DevOps team is helping the business transform by improving efficiency and by putting the customer at the heart of everything we do via our digital transformation work. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the DevOps Salesforce team as the Salesforce Release Manager. You will work in an Agile way alongside the Salesforce Operational Manager, Salesforce Solution Leads, Solution Architect, MuleSoft team, SmartComm team, and the wider Salesforce team to ensure the effective management and operation of the Salesforce estate comprising of five Salesforce Orgs, all while learning and growing your skill set. If you want to grow, enhance and mature an expanding team to provide operational support to the Zurich Salesforce enterprise platform, to contribute objective insight and technical expertise to the applications, systems and processes that are transforming Zurich through its online digital services, and mature Salesforce DevOps and Agile practices to deliver increasingly business-focused consultation and support, you could be part of an award-winning and rapidly growing DevOps team. You will be a seasoned Salesforce Professional with experience in people and stakeholder management. You will be responsible for coordinating release timelines and dependencies with the development, testing and deployment teams. Due to the highly regulated industry we have to adhere to ICIF and Blue Book regulatory requirements, you will be responsible for internal processes to ensure adherence to policies. This role will also require implementing environment strategy, including best practices for maintaining data integrity and security. Even though the role entails only one direct report, you will be collaborating with developers, administrators and other managers to evaluate and prioritize change requests. Communication with internal stakeholders is key to the team’s success and great business delivery. As part of the agenda, we want to ensure quality in all we do. Your responsibility will also include delivering robust testing strategy, with the impact on automation and incorporation within the CI/CD pipeline. This opportunity is no ordinary Salesforce Release Manager role – Zurich has positioned Salesforce as a strategic technology with five Salesforce Orgs covering Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Industries (Vlocity) and Nonprofit, currently embedding Gearset and Bitbucket as part of our CI/CD pipeline. What are we looking for? You will have Salesforce certifications ADM201 or Platform App Builder Experience in people management. Experience in managing competing demands from demanding stakeholders in a frenetic environment. Have Service Cloud, Sales Cloud and/or Vlocity experience. Have 2+ years of DevOps Release management experience, including source code repository (GitHub or Bitbucket) Have experience of process improvement and optimizations Great interpersonal skills, and good written and oral communication skills – being able to talk directly to customers to understand change and configuration requirements. Enjoy problem-solving and think logically. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to turn ambiguity into requirements. Contribute to working in a diverse team with different backgrounds and skills. Strong project management and organization skills Strong communications abilities Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator. Experience of using JIRA and Confluence Expert in Gearset, understands its ins and outs, champions best practices, remains up to date with new and planned features, and evangelizes its utility to the Salesforce team.
