Primary ASC Teaching Assistant (KS1 and KS2) Lambeth Special Needs school Paid to scale Temp to Perm contract GBP90 - GBP100 per day (PAYE) A specialist SEND school for primary aged pupils with Autism is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them on a full-time contract basis for the academic year. We are currently working with a Special Needs school in South West London who have an opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their school as soon as possible. The Role In this role, you will be working in a class of 5 primary age pupils, all of whom have complex needs and ASD. Pupils in the class can display challenging behaviour and may sometimes require support to calm situations and may need restraining. There are 5 adults in the class who provide 1 to 1 support to pupils on a rota. You will be working with every child in the class at different points in the week. The pupils will require personal care, support with eating and daily tasks, as well as support in lessons. You will be using a variety of teaching and communication methods including PECS and Attention Autism. The school is looking for a teaching assistant who is very confident and open to providing care and support to young children with this level of complex needs. The school is open to applications from Special Needs Teaching Assistants with previous experience in care settings or from passionate and committed individuals looking to enter the sector. The School This specialist primary school is for children aged 2 to 11 with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), Autism (ASD), and complex medical needs. The school provides an outstanding learning environment that meets the needs of all pupils while empowering and inspiring them to achieve their full potential. There is an established and dedicated staff team at the school who are committed to supporting both the children and their families.
