Primary Industry:

Job Duties:

Provide one-on-one support to students experiencing mental health challenges

Create and implement individualised support plans for students

Offer guidance and assistance in coping strategies and stress management techniques

Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student wellbeing

Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions

Required Qualifications:

Experience working with individuals with mental health issues

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Education:

Ideal but not essential would be a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling.

Experience:

Ideally previous experience in a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of mental health issues affecting students in an educational setting

Ability to develop and implement support plans tailored to individual needs

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional training in mental health first aid

Experience working in a school or educational environment

Working Conditions:

Work primarily within the school setting

Regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents

Potential for occasional evening or weekend work for events or meetings
