The vacancy Rainbows are currently looking for qualified Nurses to join our dedicated and supportive care team here at the Hospice in Loughborough. Our Nursing team provide a high standard of care to babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. If you can demonstrate experience working with babies, children and young people with complex care needs and are passionate about providing a high standard of nursing care in a family-led environment, we would like to hear from you. We are currently seeking experienced Band 5 Nurses to join our valued members of the clinical care team. You will join a unique and vibrant team providing symptom management, palliative and end of life care and planned short breaks at the hospice. We offer 1:1 nursing to all babies, children, and young people at the hospice. As part of the care team, you will have the opportunity to work within the multidisciplinary team made up of a variety of skilled members including Music Therapists, Complementary Therapists, and our non-medical workforce team of ACPs. Rainbows Hospice is available for families all year, 24 hours a day, we therefore operate on a shift basis to provide the best possible service. Each baby, child, and young person has 1:1 care Working within a supportive team with specialist knowledge Subsidised freshly cooked meals whilst on shift at the Hospice Free access to Health Assured employee assistance programme Wellbeing support and access to Mental Health First Aiders About the Role As a Rainbows Band 5 nurse you’ll be responsible for supporting the Deputy Lead Nurse Shift Coordinator in planning and implementing care for children and young people, with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, providing symptom management, palliative and end of life care on a 1:1 basis within the hospice. You will be responsible for: Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care of children and young people in partnership with them and their parents/guardians Providing excellent short break, palliative, and end of life care at Rainbows in a family-centered environment in conjunction with all members of the multi-disciplinary team Ensuring all procedures are carried out in accordance with local and national policies in force within the Hospice Further responsibilities in the role of a Band 5 Nurse at Rainbows can be found by downloading the Job Description. Requirements: As an experienced Band 5 Nurse at Rainbows, you'll need to be qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RGN with post-registration experience, relevant placement experience, or pre-nurse training care experience. Experience with babies, children, and/or young people (0-25 years) with complex needs is also required for the role. Palliative care experience is desirable; however, specialist training and development opportunities will be provided. Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical care are essential. Further requirements can be found by downloading the Person Specification.
