Job summary An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Theatre Education Team at UHDB. This new role within the team will involve working across all UHDB theatres to support new and existing Healthcare Support Workers. You will need to act as a role model for good clinical practice and provide support and guidance to Healthcare Support Workers across the operating theatres at UHDB with their learning and development needs. You will also provide administrative support to the theatre education team. Main duties of the job Assist and support new and current Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) in the operating theatres across all UHDB theatres including completion of the Care certificate. Provide timely reports on all relevant information systems and carry out workplace observation of candidates in their clinical areas. Maintain own clinical skills and experience to enable you to assess in occupational competence. Understand the key concepts and principles of coaching, mentorship and supervision for support workers. Demonstrate self-organisation and time management skills, prioritise own workload and meet deadlines. Complete tasks as delegated by the Theatre Education Team. Follow up on the actions and ensure compliance, reporting any problems to the Theatre Education Team. Assist with the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records. Support the review of existing administration processes and procedures, contributing ideas for development with the Theatre Education Team and help in implementing those changes. Person Specification Experience Essential Extensive Healthcare Assistant experience in the operating theatres. Has supported new starters/students. Desirable Has acted as a buddy/mentor to a new starter. Qualifications Essential Level 2 qualification or equivalent. Maths and English GCSE A-C or equivalent qualification. Desirable A1 Assessor Qualification. Level 3 qualification or equivalent. Knowledge Essential Able to use a range of IT applications and platforms. Desirable Understanding the training requirements of the HCSW workforce in theatres. Other Essential Must be able to work at all UHDB sites.
