Application Development Manager – Elastomers About Us Ingevity provides specialty chemicals and high-performance carbon materials and technologies that purify, protect and enhance the world around us. Through a team of talented and experienced people, Ingevity develops, manufactures and brings to market products and processes that help customers solve complex problems. These products are used in a variety of demanding applications. JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Elastomers Application Development Manager, this position is principally lab-based to support the team’s activities in innovation projects, customer support and generation of technical marketing data. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES To observe legislative, safety, and environmental requirements of the Warrington site. To prepare and characterize polyurethane elastomer products derived from Capa polyols in the laboratory. To carry out application testing of elastomers and associated intermediates. To support the Development Chemist on the day-to-day operation of the Elastomers Application Lab. To take part in other activities in the Capa Innovation Lab. To comply with Ingevity Group IT and confidentiality procedures & policies. KEY SKILLS Working safely in a laboratory environment. A passion for practical lab work as well as an inquisitive mind. Excellent organization, prioritization and task management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude. Creative and collaborative mind-set. Excellent report writing and presentation skills. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE A BSc or MSc degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or related discipline. Preferred but not essential: Experience with polyurethane chemistry. Experience in an industrial polymer development laboratory. Experience of working in a chemical laboratory.
