Job summary We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, creative, positive and motivated Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Service on the Isle of Wight. This is an exciting time to join CMHS as we have started working in a locality model, working more closely with physical health services to best support our communities in an integrated and multidisciplinary way. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team managing a caseload of people with complex mental health needs and offering evidence based interventions. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible, together with the wider team, for providing care, interventions and health promotion to people with severe mental health problems in the community. The post holder will also undertake a supervisory role in respect to multidisciplinary junior team members and work alongside the Team Leader on clinical issues such as therapeutic approaches and care coordination. The post holder will also be expected to work as an autonomous practitioner, as well as taking all opportunities to become actively involved in training and teaching programmes, both within the Trust and the wider community. Qualifications Essential RN [MH] with live NMC registration or OT or Social worker with current professional registration. Experience Essential Evidence of ongoing development and post registration training. Post registration training in evidence based psychological treatments. Demonstrable Care Co-Ordinator Competencies. Training in Risk assessment and management skills. Ability to build on the knowledge, skills and priorities of people working in a range of disciplines. Experience in the assessment and management of people with serious and enduring mental health issues. Evidence of undertaking audit work. Innovative, creative and a willingness to try new ideas. Nurse Mentorship Qualification or relevant professional equivalent.
