An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Theatre Nursing Team at Southfields Veterinary Specialists. Your role and responsibilities Work alongside 2 full-time Theatre RVNs, 1 part-time Theatre RVN, and 2 Theatre Techs. Collaborate with surgeons from various specialties including soft tissue, orthopaedics, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and exotics. Utilize fluoroscopy and portable x-rays for in-operative imaging. Perform circulating nurse and scrub nurse roles. Provide nursing care and preparations for surgical patients including clipping and cleaning surgical sites, IV placements, feeding tube placements, etc. Assist with the maintenance and preparation of sterile supplies. Support SVNs and PCAs during their theatre rotation. Monitor infection control. Communicate effectively between different departments and personnel. Administer anaesthesia and sedation for surgical patients. Provide the highest standard of care for our patients. Work a variety of shifts between 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 2:8 weekends with time in lieu the following week and a minimum of 1 bank holiday per year. Referral experience is not essential as full training and support will be provided.
