We're looking for an experienced SAP HANA Database Engineer to strengthen our SAP Platform team. This role requires deep understanding of SAP systems, specifically the HANA database, to ensure optimal performance and Security. The SAP HANA Database Engineer responsibilities include database management, tuning, backup and recovery, user maintenance and troubleshooting of the system. Furthermore, they will be involved in planning and implementing database upgrades and migrations and collaborate with the application teams to optimize database performance and to assist in application development.

As a SAP HANA DB engineer, you'll sit within a growing delivery team optimising user and member experience, working at the heart of our IT estate on applications supporting our core business across Banking, Savings and Accounting functions.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time,

based at either our Swindon or London office.

Your day-to-day work will involve all the things that you would expect from a HANA DB consultant working in a highly collaborative complex multi-tiered SAP landscape including:

Design, implement, and maintain SAP HANA databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability Continuously monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning measures to optimise query execution, memory usage, and overall system efficiency Develop and execute strategic plans for database growth, capacity planning, and future technology adoption Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with industry standards and regulations Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing support to development and operations teams to ensure minimal disruption to business operations Plan and execute database upgrades and patching to keep systems up to date with the latest features and security enhancements Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures Develop and manage data integration processes using SAP Smart Data Integration and other ETL tools Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and business analysts, to ensure database solutions meet business requirements

About you

First and foremost, you'll need to have proven SAP Basis and HANA experience supporting one or more of the following SAP's solutions/systems: SAP Transactional Banking for SAP S/4 HANA SAP BW/4 HANA SAP Solution Manager/ SAP Cloud ALM SAP GRC Access Control SAP S/4 HANA for Financial Products Subledger SAP S/4 HANA Banking for Payments Centralisation

You will have proven experience in most of the following areas: Extensive experience as a SAP HANA DB Engineer, with a deep understanding of SAP HANA architecture and administration Understanding of database architecture, system configuration, and the ability to manage and maintain system health and high availability SAP Certifications such as Database Administrator - SAP HANA or similar are desirable The extras you'll get
