JOB PURPOSE The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting a team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Reporting to the Production Co-Ordinator, the role focuses on achieving targets, compliance, and process improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Team Management
Lead, motivate, and support the team to meet daily production targets. Communicate plans effectively and ensure tasks are understood. Provide feedback and support for new starters and ongoing performance.
Health and Safety Promote safe working practices and ensure team compliance. Conduct audits, risk assessments, and address incidents. Ensure all start-up checks are completed to standard.
Quality Assurance Maintain product quality to meet specifications. Monitor and address non-conformances to prevent reoccurrence.
Operational Efficiency Allocate labour effectively to optimise performance. Minimise downtime during start-ups, changeovers, and trials. Monitor performance data and implement improvements.
Documentation and Reporting Complete and maintain accurate production records. Submit daily reports and ensure compliance with company standards.
Continuous Improvement Support Lean initiatives by encouraging ideas from the team. Actively address and escalate unresolved issues.
General Duties Ensure hygiene and housekeeping standards are met. Provide support across other areas as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Education Good standard of English and Maths. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (desirable).
Experience Team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. FMCG production knowledge (preferred).
Skills and Attributes Strong communication skills. Proficient in analysing data to improve performance. Reliable, proactive, and adaptable.
