We are seeking a Protection and Control (P&C) commissioning engineer to join our Power Networks team within our Net Zero Energy Business. This position could be home-based (or based from one of our UK offices in Birmingham, Glasgow, Epsom or Leeds), with site-time across the UK expected. Join us in Building a carbon-free future. The UK Energy market is undergoing unprecedented change as the country strives towards a net zero carbon target. The sector must contend with high penetration of modern generation, transmission and distribution technologies, energy storage and prepare for the increased demand associated with the electrification of transport and heat as the country progresses along the decarbonisation pathway. As part of the Net Zero agenda, networks have a crucial role in delivering the renewable energy which is required to be connected. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of the energy sector, to deliver outstanding projects and be part of the solution to delivering Net Zero. We empower our people to be the professional individuals they want to be, working on projects they feel proud of, making a difference to the world they live in and the legacy they leave behind. Our flexible and remote working policies are designed to help you get the most out of life. When you join us, you'll be a part of a genuinely collaborative environment where everyone's voice is valued and treated equally. Your purpose: You will be working within our Power Networks team as a P&C commissioning engineer to oversee the installation and commissioning stages of projects and to resolve technical issues at sites. You will enjoy trouble-shooting and have a can-do attitude to resolve issues. Examples of the types of work you may be involved in: Commissioning the protection and control aspects of different projects. Coordinating with clients, engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers as required. Attending site visits, FAT and SAT as required. What you can bring? In addition to strong communication and problem-solving skills, key attributes include: HND or degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience. Experience in commissioning P&C of substations in the UK (NG and/or SSE). BP141 or equivalent authorised or ability to do so. A high adherence to safety and quality regulations. Flexibility to travel to client sites as required. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Why work for AtkinsRéalis? The UK is the first major economy to legislate for a Net Zero target by 2050. To achieve this, our nuclear and clean energy teams are ensuring a mix of secure and sustainable energies that can meet our industry and lifestyle demands today, and in 30 years' time. We help to power our world through exciting new technologies and intelligent cybersecurity systems on projects that vary greatly in size, scope, and scale. Meeting your needs: When you start with us, you'll enjoy “Total Reward,” a package that can be tailored to your lifestyle, career and personal needs. From flexible holidays to life assurance, health & wellbeing benefits, and career planning for the senior stage of your career. Making sure you're supported is important to us. So, if you identify as having a disability, tell us ahead of your interview. And let's talk about any adjustments you might need. Additional Information: This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves, thrive and develop. #LI-Energy Worker Type:
