Position Summary
Under general supervision of a Cybersecurity faculty member, this position performs a variety of skilled tasks for the cybersecurity lab during the academic year. Note: This is a separate position from the summer lab tech. Major Preferred
Cybersecurity Experience Required
Previous experience related to the major. Experience Preferred
Successfully proficient in related course material. Skills, Characteristics Required For Position
Demonstrates dependability and reliability. Maintains a good reputation and positive working relationship with professors and other students. Should be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Required
Background Check Required: Yes Primary Duties
Provide technical support for computer hardware, software, and network issues. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and IoT devices across various platforms (Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi). Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network problems. Perform regular maintenance and updates on operating systems, applications, virtualization tools, and cybersecurity tools. Assist in setting up new workstations and IT equipment. Configure and manage a multi-server cyber range, supporting hands-on training exercises, CTF events, and competitions. Develop and maintain scripts to automate lab tasks, streamline resource provisioning, and support event and course projects. Maintain accurate records of lab inventory, issues, and resolutions. Ensure data security and backup procedures are followed. Support end-users with technical issues and provide training as needed. Collaborate with lab team to implement new technologies and improvements. Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and switches. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance. Secondary Duties
