This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the main customer sites at Fawley as a Shift Manager, reporting into the Plant Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in the safe and reliable operation of the site. As part of this role, you will work closely and collaboratively with our Remote Operations Centre (ROC) to ensure optimum production efficiency is achieved at Fawley. You will be responsible for ensuring all plant and machinery is operating efficiently and safely to BOC standards as well as statutory regulations. Responsibilities include: Preparing, issuing, monitoring, and controlling all Permits to Work. Overseeing contractors on site to ensure they deliver work safely, whilst reviewing method statements and risk assessments. Implementing local preventative measures and actions required in the event of an emergency or abnormal condition at the site. Reviewing daily shift and production reports produced by the ROC and suggesting where improvements can be made. Inspecting and checking all operating plant and machinery on a regular basis to diagnose faults, provide feedback, and raise notifications and work orders where required. You have completed an engineering apprenticeship in either mechanical, electrical or process field with a reasonable level of on-the-job experience in a similar industry. A process engineering background in a refining, petrochemicals, or gases industry is an advantage. You have excellent communication skills as you will be required to work with multiple people across the organisation. You are curious with great problem-solving skills. You are organised with a pragmatic approach and have the ability to plan proactively and think ahead. You work with the highest level of safety and integrity. Why you will love working with us
