We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client’s business which is providing “Innovative Solutions” for Professional Computing in Industrial & Defence Sectors. Specialties:

computers, racks, rack integration, tablets, technology, engineering, manufacturing, IoT, electro-mechanical, sheet metal, wireless sensors, defence, automation, communications, energy, transport, healthcare, edge computing, and micro datacentres. We strongly encourage applications from Ex- British Military personnel who may not meet all the requirements of our client but who can bring experience of working on complex electrical/electronic systems and preferably hold an engineering degree. Electrical Design:

Provide electrical design authority for existing and new electrical projects, answering design questions and helping to resolve arising issues. Design and develop electrical systems in support of complex design-to-order projects. Create system schematics, circuit diagrams, cable assemblies, wiring lists and electrical bill of materials, including specifying wires, cables and connectors and electrical devices. Provide electrical and electronic subject matter expert advice to the rest of the engineering team. Complete conceptual electrical design using Solidworks Electrical, prototype build and design verification testing as required. Check electrical and electronic drawings, schematics, diagrams and design documentation for accuracy and correctness whilst meeting cost, safety and time constraints. Responsible for electrical and electronic part selection considering obsolescence, availability and cost. Prepare and present design reviews and generate minutes from Design Reviews if required. Ensure design files and information are kept up to date and stored in accordance with departmental procedures. Highlight all electrical/electronic technical risks to the Engineering Director. Experience of using the company’s preferred design tools: Solidworks Electrical, Microsoft Visio, standard 2D CAD packages. Follow departmental processes and ensure adherence with ISO9001. Highlight improvements in current practices and take active steps to develop improvements for review and release into the company’s BMS system. Prepare and communicate specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment/tooling with purchasing and, where necessary, with suppliers. Create technical reports and documentation as required. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure designs and products meet codes of practice and recognised standards applicable to the company and/or the customer. Apply due diligence and make best efforts to comply with regulatory requirements and/or identify risks if compliance requirements cannot be met. NPI:

Provide information in a timely manner to support pre-sales bid work including concept designs. Work with purchasing and suppliers to select parts, obtain quotes, and prepare specifications. Collaborate with engineering teams and production to document, build and verify prototype parts and train build operators as needed. Recommend modifications following prototype test results. Ensure the product can be made reliably and will perform consistently in the specified operating environments. Define critical dimensions for measurement and assessment by incoming inspection. Be responsive to engineering support requests and ensure time estimates are accurate and work is completed on time. Provide regular status regarding progress of issues. Recommend, help rework or train production operatives to successfully complete rework of non-conforming material using suitable equipment and tools. General Responsibilities:

Maintain a high standard of personal and professional behaviour with colleagues and all other stakeholders. Adhere to the BMS (Business Management System) framework of ISO-9001/14001.
