Production & Design Engineer required for a manufacturer based in Sittingbourne.
Job Duties
Design and development using Autocad Inventor CAD software. Project planning - developing and administering the roadmap project planning process to ensure projects are introduced on time and within budget to meet parent company global R&D strategy, with regular reporting to senior management. Drawing office administration - drawing/specification/report approval and systematic control of all R&D related documentation within the QA system. Information gathering at the initial stages of projects, maintaining accurate project information throughout. Responsible for scheduling internal and external resources to achieve agreed milestones and deadlines. Stay abreast of current trends, practices, market developments, and regulatory changes that impact the company's products. Prototype testing (both in-house and external) and documenting reports, incorporating test/certificate/reports into certification/literature/labelling while liaising with QA. Involvement/maintenance of any area within the ERP system, primarily BOMs, components, routings, configurations, and cutting sheets for existing and new products. Collation of data, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Based in Sittingbourne, with occasional travel to other divisions within the group. Car and driving license with business travel insurance for occasional travel from the normal place of work. Innovation project management including project scope, specification, budget, and timeline. Project status reports. Minimum Requirements
A minimum of 5 years' experience in sheet metal fabrication in a busy manufacturing environment. Minimum of 3 years drawing office experience. Competence in the use of 3D CAD/CAM software drawing methods and drawing control. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Must possess a high degree of creativity in product design and manufacturing techniques. The role is office-based in Sittingbourne, changing to Aylesford later in the year. The salary range is £35-40k, 20 days holiday + bank holidays, and 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30).
