is pleased to confirm the below opportunity within our business: Environmental Sustainability Officer Main purpose of the job To develop and implement environmental & sustainability (ES) best practice, ensuring Artifex complies with current environmental & sustainability legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision. The Environmental Sustainability Officer plays a vital role in supporting Artifex operational locations to consistently meet requirements and ensure they comply with relevant legislative mandates.

It is crucial that any local procedures align with Artifex company requirements. Main missions and results Support the HSES Director – support and assist the ES function, with action plans, meetings, creating policy documentation and technical support. Support ISO14001 / ISO45001 internal crossover audits – 3-day internal audit against ISO14001 / 45001 international management standards, must be familiar with HSE management systems and ISO norms and have working knowledge of ISO50001. Lead and develop the energy activities in the sites so that existing and new processes are performing and delivered according to the sustainable strategy, climate neutral company by 2039. Lead and develop the transport activities so that existing and new processes are performing and delivered according to the sustainable strategy, minimising CO2, and drive for climate neutral organisation. Lead and develop the material choice activities so that existing and new processes are performing and delivered according to the sustainable strategy of maximise re-used material and minimise waste and approaching a circular business. The circular business includes a defined waste reduction program for all sites. Develop, manage, and distribute work to the team using level loading and similar lean principles. Respond to customer's problems and work to always maintain a good relationship with the customer. Foster a culture of can do and ensure that the departments act and perform in a compliant manner and adhere to Artifex procedures and principles. Drive Environmental & Sustainability committee meetings. Review applicable ES standards and that of customer requirements. Manage energy improvements and reporting. Document the local management system in a manual and create required documents. Provide feedback to the HSES Director to communicate best practices to Artifex. Support the HSES Director to ensure that deviations found during internal system audits are closed within the appropriate period. Advise the Management Teams on their responsibilities and coach the management team on ES matters. Keep informed on changes in ES legislation, ensuring that new legislation is reviewed and added to legal registers. Participate in the Management Review for Artifex. Report status and provide advice on improvement activities. Maintain a good knowledge of all procedures related to their position and activities. Give personal example of adherence to these procedures. Consider company’s policies and procedures knowledge and consistent application as a key element in any individual performance evaluation. Clear communication, coaching, and support for employees to address ES concerns. Manage and report the sustainability kaizen process. Preferred skills and experience Previous experience in the automotive industry, some of which as Environmental Officer and/or Environmental Engineer, or experience in production sector as HSES Engineer and/or Environmental / Sustainability Specialist. Experience in document management – ensuring all documents are controlled according to correct standards. Engineer in chemistry, machinery, or mechanics; degree related to environment and/or health & safety; or equivalent education. Knowledge of ISO50001, ISO26000 & applicable ES legislation and of customer requirements. Knowledge of ISO/IATF16949. Fluent in English. PC Literate. Knowledge and use of MS-Office. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Empathic and active listener. Ability to manage several tasks/activities. Understanding new and existing ES principles, technologies, and processes with a passion for continuous learning. Proven interpersonal and influencing skills. High level of drive and personal commitment. Ability to work well under pressure and engage at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally. Well-developed leadership skills with excellent influencing capabilities. Ability to make and accept challenges positively and debate confidently. Credible with peers and able to demonstrate added value. High problem-solving skills with a drive for continuous improvement. Deliver on promises. High degree of integrity, always prepared to do the right thing. Note: this is not an exhaustive list.
