Main Objectives Of Role
Responsible for the timely production of the monthly Management accounts, including analysis and distribution, ensuring the data is relevant, reliable and accurate.
To ensure high quality balance sheet reconciliations are prepared consistently every month and ensure they are free from misstatements.
Lead role in preparing for the year end and responsibility for delivering high quality audit deliverables.
Assist with the provision of analytical support to operating clubs and senior management.
Main Duties
Responsible for the timely production of the monthly management accounts and trial balances, including analysis and distribution, ensuring the data is relevant, reliable and accurate. Produce month end forecast variance analysis for the Accounts Close meeting
Responsible for streamlining the month end close process to ensure the full close is completed consistently by working day 5 each month
Business partner to the departmental heads. Hold monthly P&L review sessions and provide them with support so they understand their monthly P&L’s
Responsible for improving the quality of the current balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring that high quality balance sheet reconciliations are completed consistently every month for all venues
Lead role in preparing for year end and responsible for delivering high quality audit deliverables that are right first time
Own the maintenance and management of the SUN Accounts system
Lead role in the implementation of a new purchase to pay system working closely with the Accounts Payable team and the venue operations
Liaison with all areas of the business including club management, internal heads of department and line staff in addition to providing the first line of contact for club directors and administrators who have management accounts queries
Submission of quarterly VAT returns & production of various ad hoc reports / workings in connection with this
Processing and validation of the budgets and period end journals both via the interface mechanism and by direct posting
Review and correction of errors identified as part of the period end audit
Own the fixed asset register and ensure that this is reconciled to the general ledger on a monthly basis
Produce the quarterly rent turnover certificate workings
Prepare and submit all national statistic surveys
Other ad hoc duties as required by the Group Financial Controller
Required Skills
Qualified accountant, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or similar
A dedicated, reliable, hard-working and flexible approach

Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
