About the role We're on the hunt for a Senior Compliance Monitoring Officer to take the lead in driving our compliance efforts to the next level! In this dynamic role, you'll spearhead thematic reviews and ongoing monitoring activities, working closely with our Compliance team to deliver impactful insights and guidance. Your mission? Shape and execute our compliance monitoring programme while conducting insightful reviews, crunching data, and delivering polished reports that keep us ahead of the curve. As a key player in the team, you'll not only support and mentor our Compliance Monitoring Officers but also bring fresh ideas to the table and tackle compliance challenges with confidence. Monitoring Identify and document potential compliance risks and gaps, and provide recommendations for improvement Prepare and present comprehensive compliance reports for senior management, outlining findings, recommendations, and remediation actions Maintain accurate records and documentation of compliance monitoring activities, including review results, actions taken, and follow-up activities Collaborate with relevant teams, such as product development, customer experience, and operations, to implement enhancements that drive better customer outcomes while maintaining compliance standards Investigate and escalate potential compliance matters, suspicious activities, or unusual patterns to the appropriate internal colleagues Perform additional second-line assurance activity for Quality Assurance and other functions by reviewing and validating the effectiveness of their activities. Risk Governance and Compliance Management Support with risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks related to consumer credit activities Regulatory Compliance Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, regulatory updates, industry best practices and news sources pertaining to financial services to identify potential impacts on compliance requirements Monitor changes in regulations and update internal policies and procedures accordingly Collaborate with Legal and all other relevant teams to ensure compliance programs align with regulatory requirements Your experience

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a compliance monitoring or similar role within the consumer credit industry. Knowledge of financial services regulations and compliance requirements, such as AML, KYC, UK GDPR, DISP, CONC, Consumer Duty etc. Demonstrated experience in conducting end-to-end compliance monitoring reviews from setting the terms of reference, testing activities, stakeholder engagement and issuing final reports. Experience in ongoing testing and review activity e.g. case file reviews, end-to-end customer journey testing, and control testing. Understanding of risk management practices and methodologies. Experience in providing guidance and support to colleagues and developing team skills. What you'll need to succeed

Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in compliance monitoring activities. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful insights to support compliance efforts. Strong problem-solving skills to proactively identify compliance risks, propose solutions, and implement effective controls. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative and team-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships. Proactive and self-motivated attitude with a continuous improvement mindset to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of compliance monitoring processes.
