Principal Engineer Mine Waste (French/Spanish speaker)

About the role The position offers the opportunity to: Apply your experience and knowledge to the design of tailings and waste rock facilities. Actively contribute to growing the size and developing the technical capability of the mine waste team. Have a high degree of autonomy in managing your workload and due recognition for your contribution to delivering multi-disciplinary projects. Help to deliver projects and develop new business in Spain and Latin America. Work with an extremely capable and experienced team to provide support as a mine waste specialist as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver complex projects. Develop good working relationships with existing clients and develop new relationships with potential clients to further increase the business. Establish and elevate your reputation amongst a team of international professionals, with potential to become a recognized leader in mine waste, within a diverse, well-managed international business on an exciting and ambitious growth trajectory. In order to succeed, we would envisage that you would be able to bring/demonstrate: A relevant Geotechnical qualification, either holding or eligible for Chartered status; and a specialism within Tailings Engineering, bringing significant experience and expertise gained within a Geotechnical Consultancy context. Capability to lead projects from concept, through feasibility to final design and implementation and to provide direction and advice to Clients. Fluency in either French or Spanish, and excellent report writing and communication skills (in English) and strong ability to transfer these skills in preparation of fee proposals, engineering reports, design specifications and design drawings. The ability to manage, lead and mentor a team, and to manage and deliver projects (geotechnical and multidisciplinary). A full driving licence valid in the UK. It would be advantageous if you also brought: Good working knowledge of mining industry standards such as GISTM, ANCOLD, CDA, etc. Experience of water management and water balance modelling. Experience in numerical modelling using geotechnical package GeoStudio, Plaxis or any other industry standard software. Experience of acting as the Deputy Engineer of Record or Deputy Designer of Record for tailings facilities.
