Up to 50% travel annually is required This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others. Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting and fostering the safety culture and compliance at Divert’s facilities. Responsible for executing strategy and identifying improvement opportunities to help improve the safety culture at each site under responsibility and to work as a team with EHS to ensure alignment with the overall EHS direction. Lead projects aimed at anticipating, recognizing, evaluating and controlling safety hazards. Develop site specific safety programs, policies, procedures, and associated training materials, and lead initiatives to strategically plan, communicate, deliver and track required employee training. Drive thorough investigations for all incidents and accidents and ensure timely completion of corrective actions. Lead the team in developing effective root cause analysis and countermeasures. Develops and mentors facility team members to improve their effectiveness as safety leaders. Assures compliance with various governmental record-keeping requirements, as well as, company metrics, and effectively communicates information to site teams and leadership. Conduct site audits, inspections, evaluations, and reviews as necessary. Work with the sites to identify solutions to resolve the audit findings. Provide safety and process safety expertise for engineering and design. Support deliberate improvement efforts to improve overall EHS program performance. Update the EHS portal utilizing Google platforms to improve EHS sharing and communication. Update dashboards to help ensure sites understand their safety and environmental metrics. Utilize various computer software applications to develop audits and reports. What we’re looking for: Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, or related disciplines or equivalent subject matter knowledge skills and abilities acquired through work. 8+ years of experience with increasing roles of responsibility in EHS in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, work environments and procedures. Knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards. Experience developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and training from the ground up. Ability to be self-directed and complete work with minimal day-to-day supervision in a remote role.
