Are you passionate about supporting breastfeeding mothers and their families? If so, we have two part-time infant feeding peer supporter positions working within the 0-19 children's health team. The Infant feeding peer supporters will offer advice to breastfeeding mothers, addressing their concerns and answering questions, providing support and encouragement to help successful feeding. They will also facilitate group sessions, conduct home visits, support antenatal education, and public health events. The role also includes educating families on breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and the benefits of breastfeeding. They will collaborate with local professionals from Family Hubs, Children's Centres, and health colleagues to raise awareness regarding breastfeeding. The two current vacancies are in Boston and South Holland (30 hours) and Sleaford and Grantham (22.5 hours). Infant Feeding Peer Support

In Lincolnshire, we are committed to supporting families on their breastfeeding journey by offering compassionate care, education, and guidance to parents to ensure they have the knowledge and confidence to nourish their infants through breastfeeding. As an infant feeding peer support worker, you will play a crucial role in promoting and supporting breastfeeding within our community alongside the Health Visiting teams. You will work closely with families to provide practical assistance, emotional support, and evidence-based information. Your role will contribute to the overall health and well-being of both mothers and babies and provide added support to families to successfully breastfeed. In this role, there will be a large element of lone working within the community and a requirement to complete comprehensive and accurate health records. You will need to have a passion for supporting breastfeeding mothers and their families. A recognised qualification in breastfeeding is desirable but not essential.
