A vacancy has arisen on our 12-month MSK Radiology Fellowship programme. This role will be suitable for a Radiology trainee, who has recently attained CCT (or equivalent) in Radiology, or is within a short period of that attainment, wishing to pursue their career in the field of Musculo-skeletal Radiology. The Fellowship will enable the appointee to gain specialist experience in this area including all aspects of imaging of the locomotor system and will be excellent preparation for a consultant role in this sub-specialty. Main duties of the job

The postholder will undertake reporting, intervention, and ultrasound lists. Active participation particularly in the tumour MDT is strongly encouraged. The timetable will be tailored to personal interest. There will be an expectation of a small amount of non-orthopaedic work in the weekly timetable. The weekly sessional arrangements are usually agreed following discussion. There is no on-call associated with this post. About us

The Department of Radiology at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital consists of: 6 x General Radiography units The Department is staffed by eight Consultant Radiologists, all of whose specialist interest is musculoskeletal radiology. Radiology practice covers elective orthopaedic and rheumatological imaging arising from within the Trust and musculoskeletal referrals from local and regional hospitals. The Midlands Centre for Spinal Injuries is located at the hospital. Other subspecialties include Spinal Disorders, Bone and Soft Tissue Tumours, Arthroplasty, a specialist Upper Limb Unit, Sports Knee, a specialist Foot and Ankle Unit, Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone disease, Rheumatology, Children's Orthopaedics, and Neuromuscular and Locomotor disorders. Cross-sectional imaging includes MRI, CT, and a musculoskeletal ultrasound and general ultrasound service. Interventional musculoskeletal radiology practice includes bone and soft tissue biopsies, peripheral joint arthrography, a wide range of spinal interventions, radiofrequency thermoablation and cryoablation of bone and soft tissue tumors, and a range of soft tissue injections. Regular clinical and pathological conferences are held with specialist teams within the orthopaedic and spinal specialities. This includes the multidisciplinary tumour meeting attended by radiologists, pathologists, and clinicians; active participation of the Fellows is encouraged. The successful candidates will be actively encouraged to participate in audit/research projects. Full support facilities including computer and some secretarial support will be provided. It is anticipated that the incumbents in the posts will produce publications during their post and contribute to radiological scientific meetings. The hospital has just over 200 inpatient beds. GMC Registration with licence to practice and no restrictions on practice FRCR (or equivalent) Experience

Currently working in an acute setting Demonstrable experience in a structured training programme (e.g., higher specialist) or equivalent Demonstrates an interest and commitment to the sub-specialty of musculo-skeletal radiology Audit/Teaching/Research

Committed to and understands the principles of clinical audit Demonstrates ability to teach resident doctors Participation in clinical audit Evidence of publications/presentations Other

Able to work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team Able to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and colleagues Demonstrates caring approach to patients Disclosure and Barring Service Check
