The Role As a Senior Systems Engineer you will deliver capability into various investment projects by leading the technical delivery of innovative solutions while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Day-to-day, you’ll take the lead on technical project delivery by developing and managing systems engineering artifacts, engaging with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions. You’ll mentor junior engineers, identify and mitigate technical risks and ensure compliance with engineering standards, all whilst fostering a collaborative environment promoting innovation and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include: Leading Technical Delivery through overseeing the technical aspects of projects and ensuring that they meet standards for time, cost, and quality. Managing systems engineering documents throughout the project lifecycle including requirements gathering, solution definition, and system integration. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to refine requirements and manage technical risks effectively. Providing guidance and support to junior engineers. Coordinating complex integration, installation, and acceptance activities with project stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions. Ensuring that all engineering solutions adhere to regulatory, legal, and safety engineering standards. Essential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer: Demonstrable experience in leading multi-disciplinary projects through the engineering lifecycle. This includes managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards while coordinating with project managers and stakeholders. Experience in authoring and delivering technical proposals, requirements documentation, and integration plans. A solid understanding of systems engineering principles and practices including safety-critical functions and compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements. A strong ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders such as internal teams and external suppliers. The ability to anticipate potential issues and proactively address barriers in project execution. Essential qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer: A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering) is typically required. This role is 37 hours per week based at Farnborough. Hybrid working patterns available.
