About the Firm:

Key Responsibilities:

As a Residential Conveyancing Assistant, you will support Fee Earners with various tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of conveyancing matters. Your responsibilities will include: Maintaining the Fee Earner’s diary, arranging meetings and appointments, and handling routine client correspondence and queries. Attending to clients both in person and on the telephone, ensuring the firm’s high standard of client care is maintained. Creating and maintaining client records on the firm’s database, ensuring all correspondence and file notes are accurately recorded. Producing client correspondence and enclosures for mailing, including client bills, while ensuring confidentiality of client and firm information. Maintaining client hard copy files, including copying, storage, and retrieval of information, and handling completion funds and slips. Ordering documents from the Land Registry online system, managing search requests, monitoring returns, and ensuring payments are made. Completing Stamp Duty forms, ensuring cleared balances on accounts before closure, and requesting payments and recording receipts of client monies.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within a legal environment, strong organisational and administrative skills, excellent client care and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with legal databases and document management systems, along with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, are essential.
