To play a lead role in the psychological support offered with a particular focus on the needs of staff referred through the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Department. The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist psychotherapy input to the unit, which will include individual assessment, formulation, and individual therapy as appropriate. To liaise with stakeholders within MFT, to ensure ongoing appropriate psychological support to staff across the Trust and develop pathways for psychological support, including specialist pathways which meet the needs of acute hospital staff. To contribute to strategies and plans including multidisciplinary colleagues in Safeguarding, Employee Experience, Human Resources and others in order to ensure swift and appropriate psychological support for staff, including following staff safety incidents. To understand the needs of staff in different settings and to conceptualise innovative strategies to aid delivery of support and assist the Trust in promoting and maintaining the health of staff. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the on-going development of the service, providing clinical expertise and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will pragmatically draw on a full range of psychotherapy theories to aid assessment, formulation and intervention relevant to this client group. Work to policies and align with promoting equality and diversity in the workplace. To support and assist the OH team to deliver the workload in an effective manner. Represent the department during area visits and campaigns and other agency forums when required. Actively take part in and support Directorate initiatives and issues. Use clinical skills and knowledge to provide specialist advice and support to peer group staff, clients and service managers. Act as a clinical expert and positive role model for all staff. Provide professional leadership, advice and guidance to nursing and non-nursing staff, within the nursing environment and foster collaborative partnerships with other disciplines. Lead in the development of clinical standards ensuring these are set, embedded and monitored in accordance with the needs of the service in conjunction with the senior OH team. Monitor agreed quality improvement metrics to support compliance with local and external practice standards e.g. NHS Plus, cold chain monitoring etc. Support the Senior OH Advisor in ensuring that workload is prioritised and managed effectively. Participate in audit and research programmes appropriate to the advancement of the service as required. Act and lead on designated clinical pathways for improvement. With senior staff, identify and minimise clinical and non-clinical risk issues reporting to the senior team. Implementation of action plans to address areas which fall below acceptable standards. To always act in a professional manner in accordance with the NMC guidelines. Safe, efficient and effective administration of medicines in accordance with the NMC guidelines. Ensure that accurate and legible client records are kept in line with professional and legal requirements, paper and electronic. Promote and maintain effective working relationships and communications with Consultants, medical staff, nurse colleagues and other multi-agency professionals. Person Specification

Qualifications

Registered with a recognised accrediting body, such as HCPC, UKCP, BABCP, BACP. Post registration qualifications in specific therapy interventions e.g. CBT. Knowledge

Quality Improvement tools and audit. Key issues and development in staff psychological wellbeing. Experience

Significant post registration experience in a variety of primary and secondary care clinical settings. Significant experience at Band 6 or above in area of practice. Data driven experience of running programmes. Skills

Ability to think clearly in situations of high levels of emotion and stress and contain anxiety without recourse to premature action. IT skills especially use of data to analyse trends and formulate activity. Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £46,148 to £52,809 a year per annum/pro rata.
