1 x 20 hours per week Training Post FIXED TERM SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY, WAKEFIELD Wakefield CAMHS Eating Disorder team, Airedale Health Centre, WF10 3JJ. Fixed term 1 year, 5 Programmed Activities per week (no on-call currently) South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for an experienced doctor to join the citywide Wakefield CAMHS Eating Disorder team. This fixed term post for 1 year (potential to extend) will have a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will work within the Psychiatry pathway. The successful applicant will receive close supervision from Dr Nisha Alex (allocated clinical supervisor and Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the ED team). We are keen to support eligible section 12 approved doctors to pursue CESR or Approved Clinician status if interested. Person Specification Transport Desirable Holds and will use valid UK driving licence OR provides evidence of proposed alternative. Qualifications Essential MB BS or equivalent medical qualification. Desirable Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management. MRCPsych. Professional & Personal Attributes Essential Demonstrate emotional intelligence and leadership skills. Able to work flexibly and efficiently prioritise conflicting demands. Able to effectively manage time and resources within a team. Able to use electronic records. Commitment to annual appraisal and revalidation. Desirable Demonstrate proactive leadership. Demonstrate problem solving skills. Experience Essential Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post. Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience. Desirable In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice. Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 6 months of appointment. Experience of working in NHS psychiatry and CAMHS. Experience of working with Eating Disorders. Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential Excellent knowledge in specialty. Experience in management of physical health complications of eating disorders and liaison with primary care and paediatrics (community and inpatient). Confidence in monitoring of refeeding bloods, managing prescription of refeeding vitamins and micro-nutrient deficiencies. Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty. Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others. Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA. Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi-professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies. Desirable Wide range of CAMHS specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service. Physical Attributes Essential Smart professional appearance. Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning Essential Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training. Participate in continuous professional development. Participate in research or service evaluation. Able to use and appraise clinical evidence. Has actively participated in clinical audit.
