Advanced Specialist Pharmacist – Trauma, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery Average of 37.5 hours/week across a 7-day working rota (with a maximum weekend commitment of 1 in 4) plus On-Call Duty only if required by department. An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Network Services Pharmacy team at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) to lead the service to UHNM’s Trauma, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery Directorate. To be considered you will be an experienced, clinical pharmacist, able to demonstrate an ability to deliver high-quality care for patients. Working closely with clinicians, nursing staff, and the directorate management team, you will lead the clinical pharmacy service to the Trauma, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery Directorate. You will work closely with the Specialist Clinical Pharmacist – Elective Orthopaedics and the other Advanced Specialist and Lead Pharmacists in Neurosciences, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery whilst working within the Network Services Clinical Pharmacy team. You will be expected to provide a high-quality clinical service and provide clinical, financial, and risk management support to the Trauma, Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Directorate. In addition, the post-holder will be expected to provide occasional clinical support to the other specialties within the Division of Network Services team to ensure continuity of service. This role, as with all our Advanced Pharmacist posts, has the responsibility of supervising diploma students and managing junior staff. Furthermore, you will contribute to the strategic development of the clinical pharmacy service provided to the Network Services Division and by supporting the Advanced Clinical Lead Pharmacist for the Network Services Division and the Deputy Chief Pharmacist Clinical Services. Essential Qualifications

Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma / MSc or equivalent qualification Independent Prescriber with appropriate annotation on GPhC register or willing to undertake Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent Formal management and / or leadership qualification Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Comprehensive experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner including a solid grounding in a broad range of clinical specialties Experience working as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting Commitment and evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) Computer literate and able to use Windows applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and internet High standard of oral and written (including report writing) communication skills with attention to detail Good and broad understanding of current hospital pharmacy practice and future direction of travel IT skills and knowledge of the digital medicines agenda. Clinical pharmacy experience within Trauma, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery and an enthusiasm to develop this Evidence of involvement in pharmacy practice research and/or audit Publication of research in a peer reviewed journal Experience providing education, training and supervision of staff Experience line managing and/or conducting formal appraisals Evidence of involvement in writing of guidelines Presentation of abstract on pharmacy practice research at a regional or national conference Important information about your application All correspondence will be sent to you via the email address you applied from.
