Are you a Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner looking for a new opportunity?

We are on a journey expanding our successful teams to enhance our Children's Emergency Department. If you are a qualified Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner who wants to work with a dynamic and progressive team, then this is an opportunity for you. You will join an embedded team of 4 Paediatric ACPs and 1 Trainee Paediatric ACP who currently work in the Children's Emergency Department. You will support the ED team by providing patient-centred care through clinical assessment, examinations, diagnosis and treatment in a timely manner. The team may also support Children's Services if required.

Main duties of the job

You will practice advanced nursing within the Framework for Advanced Practice. Core service delivery is covered by four pillars of practice: Clinical Practice, Management and Leadership, Education, and Research.

You will provide expert identification, assessment, treatment, and management of the acutely ill child, using complex communication skills, judgement, discretion, and decision-making.

To be an advanced, autonomous Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practitioner (PACP) working within your sphere of competence, providing highly specialist assessment and intervention which contributes to the diagnosis and management of acutely ill patients in paediatric in-patient areas in the Trust.

You will monitor and improve standards of care through the use of evidence-based practice, supervision, teaching and supporting colleagues, provision of skilled professional leadership, and being a role model.

To support junior medical staff, sharing clinical workload and allowing junior doctors to achieve training and development requirements.

You will participate in clinical governance within the service by undertaking and participating in audit and research as part of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) within the specialist field as part of the training programme.

To provide leadership to nursing staff and junior doctors with regards to training and development ensuring delivery of consistent high quality of care.
