Behaviour Mentor Specialist Secondary School: 11-16 Full-time role Immediate start Ongoing contract A specialist school in Enfield is looking for an experienced Behaviour Mentor who can join the school to support their pupils on a long-term basis. The Role In this role, you will be supporting 11-16 year old students who may display challenging behaviour. Many of the students have special educational needs such as Autism as well as SEMH. Alongside assistance in lessons and therapy sessions, students require support to manage their own emotions and de-escalate situations. You will work closely with a range of teachers, professionals, and therapists. Due to the nature of this role, the school is only looking for a Behaviour Mentor with previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs. PRU or similar experience would be preferable. Team Teach experience is desirable, however, not essential. The role will involve supporting their inclusion team with behaviour, primarily managing behaviour around the school, supporting breaks, and getting pupils to lessons. You would attend 'on-calls' for when there is a need for extra behaviour support in a lesson or facilitating work with pupils in our reflection space - this could be either 1:2:1 or in small groups. The School The School is an SEMH School which caters for young people aged 11-18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. All their students have a primary need within the area of SEMH, and some students may have co-occurring needs in one or more of the following areas: communication and interaction; cognition and learning; sensory and/or physical needs. Their core purpose is to improve the quality of life for their students and the wider community by nurturing potential. We have a policy to respond to all applications within three working days. However, due to the volume of applications, we are sometimes unable to reply to individual enquiries. If we have not contacted you within this specified time, your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Philosophy Education is a Recruitment Business and is advertising this vacancy on behalf of one of its clients.
