Godstowe is a thriving, busy School enjoying a famous reputation in its field and is now entering its 125th anniversary year. Approximately a third of our pupils are boarders. The School prepares children for entry, mostly at 13+ but some at 11+, into the leading independent senior schools. The School prides itself on academic excellence, whilst being non-selective at entry.
Godstowe has experienced great success in a number of sports including Lacrosse, Netball, Athletics and Swimming and we pride ourselves on the quality of our curriculum lessons. PE is taught to every child at Godstowe by a specialist teacher from Reception onwards. The school boasts an enviable range of facilities: a 25-metre four-lane Swimming Pool, a multi-purpose Sports Hall and Dance Studio, floodlit Netball and Tennis Courts, a Lacrosse pitch and Athletics track.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of PE, ideally with a Netball specialism, to teach Sports at Godstowe throughout the school. Fixtures normally take place in the evenings, after school, and from time-to-time at weekends.
The successful candidate will need to:
Have the ability to teach all aspects of PE, including Swimming, Gymnastics and Dance
Have some experience teaching children in the 3-13 age range
Take a full part in the extra-curricular activity programme
Offer expertise in girls’ team sports
Have good organisational skills
Be a supportive and creative member of the department, where staff work as a team
Be excited about working in one of the most successful girls’ prep schools in the UK
Relish the challenge of maintaining the highest possible standards
Encourage girls of all abilities with equal measures of enthusiasm
Understand the need for a flexible approach to working
