We strive to create programs that honor Indigenous culture, languages, and traditions while fostering the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children in our community. Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and enthusiastic Early Years Program Coordinator to lead the implementation of our early childhood programs. This individual will design and oversee age-appropriate programs that nurture children’s development, respect cultural traditions, and build strong connections between children, families, and the community. This role involves program planning, staff support, community engagement, and ensuring compliance with educational and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement age-appropriate programs that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and physical development. Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations to enhance program offerings. Engage with local community groups and public health agencies to promote health education and raise awareness of early childhood health. Track participation, outcomes, and success indicators, and prepare reports on program progress for funding agencies. Ensure all programs are accessible, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to the diverse needs of the community. Develop and distribute educational resources and workshops on prenatal and infant care, tailored to community needs. Provide guidance and resources to families regarding early childhood development, parenting, and community services. Foster an inclusive environment where every child’s individual needs are met. Collaborate with Beaverhouse First Nation staff and community partners to coordinate services. Maintain accurate and confidential records related to children’s progress and program participation. Facilitate parenting workshops and provide support on child development and family wellness. Assist with the Indigenous Early Learning Program. Stay current with best practices in early childhood education through professional development. Conduct regular program evaluations to identify areas for improvement and ensure goals are being met effectively. Qualifications: Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent certification. Experience working with children (birth to six years) in an early childhood education setting. Strong knowledge of child development principles, early learning frameworks, and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families from diverse backgrounds. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Current Criminal Reference Check (Vulnerable Sector) required. Assets: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, TEAMS, and other related office programs. Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Valid First Aid and CPR certification. Knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous resources, service providers, and programs in the district.
