With bold ambitions, Sandwell Council’s Urban Design & Building Services Division is looking to employ a Lead Designer to work on a wide range of exciting projects, including Regeneration, Residential (low and high rise), Schools, Public Buildings and Sports/Leisure Facilities. The Role This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to further their experience and qualifications in Architecture or Architectural Technology (or a related discipline) and who can bring leadership, innovation and collaboration skills to the Building Design and Management role for our internal and external clients. You will have the benefit of working in a creative, multi-disciplinary team of professionals which includes Architects, Technologists, Landscape Architects, Structural Engineers, Property Surveyors, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and associated co-ordination staff. Your responsibilities will include: Provide a full range of pre and post contract Design (Built Environment) services, including all tasks outlined in the RIBA plan of works. Act as project manager/employer’s agent/authority’s representative/contract administrator in accordance with the terms and conditions of construction related contracts on construction projects. To undertake procurement exercises in conjunction with Procurement Services and in accordance with the Council’s Rules. To act as a lead Designer on construction projects requiring more than one team member. The Person: We’re looking for someone with : GCSE English A-C. Relevant degree or qualification in Architecture or Landscape Architecture. Demonstrate relevant skills and training to a similar or higher level than the aforementioned. With a minimum of 3 years relevant experience of the following:

Design and co-ordination of construction projects. Application and interpretation of construction related statutory regulations, technical information and contracts. Use of quality management systems. Construction related ICT software and interpreting client requirements, brief development and delivery of presentation.
