Main duties of the job
You will work across a range of research studies including investigational medication studies, observational research and clinical interventions as well as supporting and managing patients care within the Research Department. Well-developed skills and experience in acute areas with an interest in developing your career in this specialised area will be an advantage, however, no research experience is necessary. Under the direction of the Lead Consultants, Registrars, Research Doctors and Senior Research Nurses, you will participate in the recruitment and follow up of patients to research studies attending Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. You will be responsible for undertaking study related procedures (as appropriate) whilst adhering to the protocol. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning and on-going care and safety of research participants and will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team, referring patients for specialist care as needed. An important aspect of the role will be the maintenance of highly accurate and comprehensive records of data derived from the research studies. The post holder will be required to work autonomously with supervision and guidance of the Senior Research Nurses. About us

Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Nursing or HCP GCP Certificate NMC Registration Knowledge of GCP Knowledge of Informed Consent Process Experience
Work to a high level of accuracy Research Experience Understanding of Data collection Knowledge of Oncology Skills
Venepuncture/ Central Line knowledge and a willingness to learn usage Knowledge of SACT treatments Venepuncture Organisational skills
Experience of working in a busy environment Ability to work independently or as part of a team Develop relationships with individuals/ teams across the trust Experience of delegation of tasks IT systems
Good knowledge of IT systems Knowledge and use of IT systems including PAS, Maxims and Aria Disclosure and Barring Service Check
