Behaviour Support Workers

to work across a variety of schools in the Wakefield area of West Yorkshire. This is a fantastic chance to join a supportive network of schools that cater to pupils aged 11-16, many of whom face challenges such as SEMH needs, exclusions, medical issues, or personal circumstances. Around 90% of the pupils have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), so your role will be pivotal in helping them overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. About the Role: As a Behaviour Support Worker, you'll play a key role in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment across various settings. You'll work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and delivering behaviour intervention strategies tailored to individual pupils or small groups. Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to overcome emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them engage with education. Running targeted intervention sessions on topics such as mental health, self-esteem, anger management, and resilience. Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm and focused learning atmosphere. Helping pupils reintegrate into school following periods of absence and improving their attendance and punctuality.
