Demonstrable experience using automation to remove toil with scripting, infrastructure, and configuration as code. Demonstrable experience of reliability engineering including capacity and performance management through monitoring, logging, and alerting. Demonstrable experience of supporting a Live Service. Demonstrable experience of developing and supporting cloud-based applications in AWS. Demonstrable experience of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Demonstrable experience communicating effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels to provide feedback and support. In addition to the essential criteria above, experience of working with any of the following technologies is also desirable but not essential: Terraform, Ansible, Java, Javascript, MongoDB, Docker, JSON, YAML, SQL, Git, GitLab CI, Jsonnet, Libsonnet. You and your role As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be using modern tooling to oversee Production systems to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our production systems. You will have a passion for operational excellence and expertise in cloud platforms, monitoring tools, and automation frameworks. Your primary task will be to act as the 'gatekeeper' of Production, but you will also strive to achieve the Department and H&D goals, making Digital Accessible, Reliable, Cost effective and Sustainable. We look to achieve this by creating scalable and highly reliable software systems and leading initiatives to develop the automation of low-value tasks balanced against project delivery demands.
