Data Protection Manager

to join a team and play an integral role in ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of data protection.

This specialist role requires an in-depth understanding of current data protection legislation. As the Data Protection Manager, you'll provide guidance and support to the business and risk functions, monitor compliance, and lead the reporting and management of data breaches and incidents.

Key Responsibilities for the Data Protection Manager:

Ensure the organisation remains compliant with GDPR in both business-as-usual and transformational projects. Collaborate with business and project teams to achieve GDPR-aligned outcomes. Foster a data protection culture, implementing principles such as data protection by design and default, data subject rights, and records of processing activities. Recognise, investigate, communicate, and notify data breaches in a timely manner. Develop and maintain effective policies, procedures, and frameworks to support compliance.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in data protection, ideally gained in a regulated financial services environment. You'll have the skills and experience to support the business in achieving compliance while improving processes to enhance client experience.

Essential Skills for the Data Protection Manager:

Expertise in data protection law and practices, with a proven track record in compliance. Experience in a regulated financial services organisation. Demonstrated ability to implement best-practice data processes. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. A track record of driving improvements that benefit both client experience and regulatory compliance.
