Hull is an extremely proud and ambitious city. Hull City Council is now offering a fantastic opportunity to join our team as Assistant Director for Major Projects and Infrastructure, and be part of delivering and developing the next stages in our hugely exciting journey! Delivering against the priorities of Hull’s new Community Plan, and making our city a great place to work, live, invest and visit, are high on the agenda, continuing to build on the legacy of the city’s fabulous year as the UK City of Culture. This portfolio is responsible for developing and delivering the council’s major capital projects, including museums and visitor attractions through the Maritime programme, major residential and commercial development sites that are key to growth in the city’s economy, as well as transport and highways infrastructure and improvements and the city’s school building programme. These are all key to improving the city for our businesses and residents, growing the economy, and delivering on Hull’s Community Plan. The successful candidate will be a key part of the council’s senior leadership team and the wider business community, and will have the expertise and experience to drive forward the vital economic development, regeneration and place-making agenda within Hull and the wider region. Hull City Council is a great place to work. We are clear about our values and what makes us tick. We require a leader with the right approach, experience, knowledge and tenacity to help us continue to build on the great work that’s already happening. This is a fantastic opportunity to really make a difference, supported by an amazing team who have real pride in our city and what we can achieve. If you think you’re the right person to take on this exciting and challenging opportunity, and if you have the ambition to make a real and lasting positive difference to a great city, then we’d love to hear from you. We don’t just want to know what you have done, we want to know who you are, what you stand for, and what you want to achieve. Interviews to take place over two days on 18th and 19th March 2025.
