A quick look at the role. The Business Development Manager is accountable for identifying and driving new business in line with the divisional business plan. Working closely with the Regional General Managers and Depot Managers, you will explore new commercial tendering opportunities and grow the business through acquisition and improvement opportunities to a set quarterly/annual target. The position will explore the potential market for additional services across the group, identifying any new business tendering opportunities through detailed analysis to determine the commerciality, viability, chances of success and fit within the capability of the Group. Why it’s an opportunity not to be wasted. Exploring, identifying and managing new business tendering opportunities in order to secure and grow the business. Proactively selling profitable new business within a region or nationally to achieve and exceed quarterly/annual new business targets. Managing a sales territory and or prospecting lists for business opportunities. Reporting call, lead, quote and contract activity on to the Company Operating System. Producing present weekly, monthly and quarterly personal performance to Head of Major Sales when required. Minimum Requirements: Over 3 years’ experience in a comparable field-based B2B business development role. Proven track record in sales, selling contracted services worth a minimum of £100,000 per annum. A charismatic communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
